A couple with a young child approached us to transform a Victorian cottage in Hawthorn into a substantial family home. We retained the street façade and tucked a two-storey addition beneath the original roof pitch, opening the plan northward to a generous garden. Double-height voids organise the living and dining areas; skylights draw light into the core. Pilbara marble runs from bench to splashback whilst timber features draw warmth throughout.  From the street, a Victorian cottage. Inside, space for a family to cook, gather and grow into.
