A single-fronted Victorian cottage in Hawthorn, reimagined for a growing family. We retained the heritage façade and party wall, opening the rear into a light-filled living space that connects to the garden. American oak panelling, burnished concrete floors and hot-rolled steel blades frame daily life — materials chosen to soften and weather over time. Steel columns concealed within the walls create the structure for a future upper storey, allowing the house to evolve as the family grows.
