 We bring the same care and material intelligence that define our residential and commercial work to civic and institutional projects. Directors Tom Carroll and Nelson Riofrío bring experience designing civic facilities for local government, including the Knox City Council Operations Centre — delivered while at peckvonhartel prior to founding RCA Studio in 2017. Civic work demands close engagement with stakeholders and end users, grounded in evidence-based planning.

We value functional needs analysis, workflow mapping and prototyping to inform design strategy. Every decision weighs long-term performance, maintenance efficiency and adaptability alongside purpose. Materials are chosen for durability and clarity of use. We see civic architecture as an opportunity to elevate everyday function: design that balances practicality, longevity and dignity — serving those who serve the community.
