KNOX OPERATIONS CENTRE, KNOXFIELD


A new operations centre for the City of Knox, designed to adapt as the council’s services evolve. Directors Tom Carroll and Nelson Riofrío led the project while at peckvonhartel, prior to founding RCA Studio. Engagement workshops with maintenance crews and stakeholders informed a masterplan consolidating offices, workshops and a secure vehicle compound on a smaller site. The facility integrates rainwater harvesting, solar arrays and fleet charging infrastructure. Concrete and steel construction allow reconfiguration as operational needs change — a practical facility built to serve those who serve the community.
